The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) investigation and a DNA test revealed that 22-year-old Jovelyn Galleno, who had previously been reported missing, was found dead in a dense place in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan.

Due to the suspicion of Galleno’s kin, the NBI opened another investigation into the bones that were discovered by the police. The victim’s remains allegedly transformed into skeletons too rapidly.

Galleno had been missing for more than two weeks when the bones were discovered in Barangay Pulang Bato in Puerto Princesa. Galleno was last seen alive when he came to work at a store inside the mall.

Attorney Giselle Dumlao, an NBI spokesperson, said On August 27 that they carried out a separate investigation at the crime scene.

On September 1, their forensic team took a DNA sample to compare with the bones found that took 13 days for the result to come out.

“The result became available on September 12, 2022, and the result revealed that the DNA profile from the skeletal remain matches with Jovelyn Galleno, based on the profile from its reference or biological parents with a 99.99% probability of relationship,” said Dumlao.

It can be remembered that Police Captain Maria Victoria Iquin, a spokesperson for the Puerto Princesa Police, revealed last month that a 99.9% match was also found in DNA analysis of the victim’s mother’s swab sample and skeleton.

The accused in the case, Leobert Dasmariñas and Jovert Valdestamon who were convicted of rape and homicide, are Galleno’s cousins.

Meanwhile, Dasmariñas was given bail but reportedly declined to speak with the media and his family.

“I confirm that I have completely exited the administration of President Bongbong Marcos, after having spoken to him at length about my wish to spend most of my time with my family…a very personal decision that was happily made,” saad ni Rodriguez sa kanyang Facebook post.

“I have been ridiculed, maligned, and subjected to baseless and unfair commentaries on all conceivable platforms, but I take solace in the legal aphorism, ‘Men in public life may suffer under a hostile or unjust accusation; the wound can be assuaged with the balm of a clear conscience,” aniya.

“There is a need for Congress to protect and ensure the integrity of the lotto draws that contribute in a big way to government coffers and help finance public health programs, as well as medical assistance and services to indigents, among other charities,” saad ng 4Ps Partylist Representative sa paghahain ng House Resolution No. 463.
